Spurlock Farms Registered Charolais is located at the foot hills of the Ozark Mountains in Judsonia, Arkansas.
Jewel Spurlock founder of Spurlock Farms started the purebred Charolais side of the cattle operation in 1968 with a Charolais bred heifer purchased at the Arkansas State Fair. That Charolais heifer ran with the commercial herd and the growth and performance is what caught Jewel’s eye. Spurlock Farms has had registered Charolais cattle ever since. Jewel Spurlock has passed the desire to raise and produce Charolais cattle to the next generation, grandson, Wesley Benton.
My name is Wesley Benton and with the help of my wife Ashton and daughters Ellie and Averie, we now run Spurlock Farms with a goal to produce functional Charolais cattle that will increase our customer’s profit. Building on what my grandpa Jewel started, we have taken Spurlock Farms to the next level with the use of artificial insemination (AI) and (ET)embryo transfer work. Spurlock Farms has registered Charolais bulls and females for the purebred and commercial cattlemen that will go to work in any program.
In 2020, we ventured into a new business as well. We now offer USDA inspected beef to the public straight from our farm. We sell steers by the half, whole or by the pound. All steers are raised on pasture and finished on a grain to provide our customers with a fresh quality product.
